Over the past 6 months we have been making sure we meet the standards in the new accreditation process – to be called Approved Provider...
We can proudly say we now have the status of an Approved Provider and we have been awarded the provisional banding B, 0 being poor and A being Very Good. We have a variety of activities through out the week: Mondays – IT, arts & crafts, yoga pm, animal care. Tuesdays - animal care, ceramics, arts & crafts, story writing. Wednesdays – baking, arts & crafts, animal care, gardening Thursdays – baking, ceramics, basic skills Fridays – Horticulture NPTC, yoga pm, ceramics, football. Cornwall College will be running (at the centre) IT, Numeracy and Literacy certificated courses, starting in the next few weeks. Through the year we try to arrange several social events. Our yearly open day falls in August; we celebrate the opening of the centre with cream teas, BBQ, exhibitions and lots more. Bonfire night is always an exciting and spooky night. We combine Halloween and decorate the conservatory with scary art work, created by the service users, and encourage fancy dress. Drinking mulled wine around the bonfire is also a good reason to come. At Christmas time we celebrated with two Christmas dinners. The upstairs group room is decorated, Drym Valley theatrical group put on a play and Christmas cards are handed out. November 2009 |
